Jack Ruble

      Jack Ruble, 80, of Ankeny, formerly of Douds, died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Taylor House in Des Moines.

      A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Mark Young officiating. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral, with burial of cremains at a later date in Ottumwa Cemetery.

      Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, where the family will be present from 4-5 p.m. Open visitation also will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church.

      Memorials to Mount Moriah Cemetery in Douds, Taylor House in Des Moines or Wesley United Methodist Church in Ottumwa may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 408 N.E. 31st St., Ankeny 50021.

      Mr. Ruble was born April 29, 1928, near Douds, the son of Clyde and LaRue Downing Ruble. He married Donna Hanshaw June 21, 1949. He later married Judy Sheumaker Feb. 23, 1991.
