Jackie Knerr, 52, of Brighton, died suddenly Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington. He was born in Iowa City on January 29, 1969, to Jack Evan and Sandra Lee VanAuken Knerr. He grew up and attended schools in the Grand View/Letts area and Brighton/Washington area. Jackie married Theresa Randall November 8, 1985, in Fairfield. He worked at Hackert Wood Products in Richland, Kalona Cheese Factory, Crane Valve in Washington, Dexter Foundry in Fairfield and at Tyson Foods in Columbus Junction. He loved hunting, fishing, wrenching, mudruns, racing and camping.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Theresa of Brighton; children, Michael Knerr (Courtney House) of Richland, Josh Knerr (Brittany) of Washington and Dakota Knerr (Alanna) of Wayland; step-daughter, Stephanie Ineichen of Ainsworth; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Sonya McHugh (Pat) of Stockport and Sandra Knerr (Duane Richardson) of Martinsburg; and two brothers, Merle Knerr (Pat) and Harold Knerr, both of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday June 1, 2021, at Brighton First Church of God with Pastor Rick Hughes officiating. Visitation will be held at the church 6:30 to 8 p.m Monday evening, May 31, 2021. A general memorial has been established and may be left at the church or mailed to Theresa at 205 N Mechanic Street, Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is assisting the family.
