Jaclyn was born January 7, 1934, in Sheffield, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Edna (Rust) Messerschmidt. She attended school in Sheffield, Iowa, where she graduated from high school. Jaclyn attended the University of Iowa where she obtained her Degree in Elementary Education. She later attended the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Jaclyn was united in marriage to Frank H. Miller on July 15, 1961, at the Danforth Chapel in Iowa City, Iowa.
She was a lifelong Elementary School Teacher and loved being around children. She was an active member of the Bettendorf Presbyterian Church and was an outgoing musician. She sang with a variety of choirs and productions. She had a lifelong passion for sharing her beautiful voice through entertaining wherever the spirit led her ad was responsible for uplifting spirits wherever she decided to sing.
Jaclyn was a storyteller and could light up a room with her laughter and song. A hopeless romantic, she loved love and cared deeply for her family, friends and strangers alike.
Jaclyn had faith in the goodness within people, even if they didn’t see it themselves. She had faith that we are here for a reason and we are truly loved by the Lord.
She lived a beautiful, vibrant life full of travel, laughter, community and adventures with her love, Frank. Her family will remember and cherish her capacity to live every day as if it is our last, without fear and with complete faith that we will meet again someday.
Her elegance, humor, passion, legacy and story will continue to be told by all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her son, Bret (Frisk) of Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin; daughter, Michele of Eagle River, Wisconsin; daughter, Ondrea (Laura) of Ames, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Jaclyn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Frank H. Miller.
