James Brandt Magdefrau

      WAYLAND-James Brandt Magdefrau, 80, of Washington, formerly of Wayland, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

      Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, at Wayland Mennonite Church, with Gerry Klopfenstein and Pam Unruh officiating. Burial will be in North Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday at Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland, with a Masonic and Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m. Following the Masonic and Eastern Star Service, family will receive friends until 9 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Shiners Hospital Transportation Fund, Hospice of Washington County, or United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

      Mr. Magdefrau was born on Aug. 24, 1923, in Wayland, to Albert B. and Leola (Wyse) Magdefrau. He married Dorothy Arce Kaufman on Aug. 25, 1945, in Nashua. He later married Waunita Kauffman on Aug. 22, 1964, in Mt. Pleasant.
