James J. Scharpman
James J. Scharpman, 85, of West Point, died at 8:05 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, at his home.
Friends may call after noon on Wednesday at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary recited at 3 p.m. and a wake service at 7 p.m. The family will meet with friends from 2:30-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m.
The mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday Aug. 17, at the St Mary's Catholic Church in West Point with Fr. Apo Mpanda as celebrant. Burial, with full military honors by the West Point American Legion, will be in the Calvary Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
