James 'Jim' E. Manning

James "Jim" E. Manning, 66, of Mount Pleasant died Tuesday evening, Feb. 21, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

      A service is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Jeffrey Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Wayland with full military rites conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard.

      Family visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church Saturday. Memorials may be directed to Parkinson Research.

      Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mr. Manning was born March 22, 1939, in Wayland, the son of Henry E. and Mazie W. Horning Manning. He married Mary Ann Hawkins Sept. 25, 1965, in Nauvoo, Ill.
