James "Jim" G. Krabill, 76, of rural Wayland, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021, at his home.
Jim was born on November 7, 1944, at White Oak, Iowa, the son of Emerson L. and Alta R. (Christner) Krabill.
He attended Starr School. Jim was united in marriage to Shirley Anderson on December 30, 1967, at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jim was active in his community, he farmed and drove a semi for several years, enjoyed arrowhead hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking his grandchildren on jeep rides to go fishing along with his dog Shadow. Before his marriage, he was active in the Trenton Missionary Church. He was a member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church, Farm Bureau and was a member of the Iowa National Guard.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley of rural Wayland; his daughters, Kimberly Trent (Dale Ripp) of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Teresa (Joe) Cluney of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Jamie (Chad) Fraise of Mt. Pleasant; six grandsons, Austyn Trent, Nick Trent, Michael Cluney, Landan Provino, Dalton Provino and Noah Provino; three stepgrandchildren; his brother, Larry (Ann) Krabill of Mt. Pleasant, and his sister, Marilyn (Bob) Reichman of St. Paul, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Krabill.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Mark Youngquist officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. that evening. Memorials may be directed to the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church in his memory.
