James 'Jim' L. Barnes

      James "Jim" L. Barnes, 77, of Washington, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, in the Washington Care Center following a lengthy illness.

      Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in rural Brighton with the Rev. Sally Graves and the Rev. Linda Foor officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday in the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. The family will not be present. Memorials may be made to the Washington Care Center Activity Department, Brighton United Church of Alzheimer's research.

      Mr. Barnes was born Aug. 9, 1931 in Fairfield, the son of Keith and Viola (Stout) Barnes. He married Donna Smith on Aug. 14, 1955 in the First Christian Church in Fairfield.
