James ?Jim? Wyse

      James ?Jim? Wyse, 70, of Wayland, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite Church with the Rev. Melvin Koehn officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Center Cemetery east of Wayland. A memorial has been established to the Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite Church and Wayland First Responders.

      Mr. Wyse was born Dec. 29, 1929 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Noah and Minnie Black Wyse. He married Roberta Shaffer on Feb. 20, 1955, at the Wayland Mennonite Church. He served his country during the Korean War and farmed most of his life until his retirement. He was a member of the Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite Church and the Wayland Christmas Committee.

      Survivors include his wife; a daughter Kendra Wyse of Wayland; and a sister, Barbara Wyse of the Parkview Home in Wayland. He was preceded in death by his parents.
