James "Jimmy" Loren Davis

James "Jimmy" Loren Davis, 82, long term resident of Ottumwa and Batavia, Iowa, passed away on January 4, 2024, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

He was born on June 3, 1941, in Centerville, Iowa, to Maxine Carter Davis and Charles Davis. Jimmy married Nancy Talbot on February 1, 1986.

Jimmy was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. After serving, Jimmy worked for 30 years at the Ottumwa John Deere while running his own business, Jimmy Davis Trucking.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy; children Nick (Haley) Davis of Des Moines, Regina Curry of Centerville; three grandchildren; siblings, Maurice (Barbara) Carter of Centerville, Paul Davis of Centerville, Marian (J.T.) Buxton of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Steven Westmoreland of Ottumwa and Richard (Tammy) Westmoreland of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Berlon, and a sister-in-law, Diane Davis.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2024 at Reece Funeral Home.
