James L. Jenkins, 49, of Washington, died early Friday March 3, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. He was born in Sigourney, Iowa, March 18, 1973, the son of Ernie and Diana Lynn Jacobs Jenkins. Jim grew up in Brighton and attended Washington Highschool. He married Sarah Marie Hoewing in Washington on February 11, 2021. Jim worked as a carpenter and enjoyed playing poker, listening to music, playing pool, birdwatching with his dog Midnight, football, the Hawkeyes and Pittsburg Steelers and family time.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah of Washington, his children: Alysha, Skyler, Kolton, Eva, Alex, T.J., and Ryan, several grandchildren, his parents Diana and Bill Farmer of Brighton, his sister, Heather Farmer and Chuck Engle of Douds, other relatives and friends.
No services will be held at this time. General memorials may be mailed to the Gould Funeral Home at P.O. Box 149, Brighton, IA 52540.
