James Orville “Jim” Manley, age 78, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023, following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Lamb officiating. Calling hours will begin 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will take place at the Friends Cemetery in Richland, Iowa. Jim was born November 4, 1944, in Marysville, Missouri, the son of Orville Lee and Leta Mae (Keith) Manley. He graduated from New Market High School in New Market, Iowa. Jim was married to Linda Long. The couple later divorced. Jim has spent the past 32 years with his loving partner, Kathy Davis.
Jim has lived in Washington County since 1977, where he worked for 20 years at Kalona Plastics in Kalona, Iowa. He previously worked for Wood Construction in Washington. Jim served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era where he was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a large collection of buck knives.
He is survived by his son, Michael Manley and wife Tammy of Belle Plaine, Iowa; life partner, Kathy Davis of Washington, Iowa; stepdaughter, Jodi Baughman and husband Tony of Keota, Iowa; stepson, Mark Davis and wife Tammy of Wayland, Iowa; four grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren and one brother, Ed Manley and wife Pam of New Market, Iowa.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Merilee Manley.
