James R. Stepp November 21, 1921 - January 3, 2004

James R. Stepp, 82, of West Union, Ill., died at 4:33 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, Ill. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel in West Union, Ill. with Brother Tom Cooperider officiating. Burial will be in the Harrison Cemetery, west of West Union, with military graveside rites by Marshall American Legion Post 90 and Marshall Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975. Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 7 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the West Union Christian Church of the West Union District Library.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Melanie and her husband Charles Guyer of rural Annapolis, Ill., and Leslie and her husband Michael Miller of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Doris Collier of Uniontown, Ohio; a brother, Byron and his wife Eleanor Stepp of Marshall, Ill.; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Willis and Marjorie Strohm of Hutsonville, Ill.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Thelma Mullins, Elizabeth Perkins, and Margaret Weger; and a brother, Donald Stepp.
