James W. "Jamie" Volner Jr., 52, of Wayland, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at his home in Wayland.

Jamie was born on March 16, 1969, in Redbud, Illinois, the son of James and Betty (Dueker) Volner Sr. He graduated from Redbud High School in the class of 1987. Jamie worked as a chef for the National Parks Service and traveled all over. When he moved back to Mt. Pleasant area he began to work for Shottenkirk Automotive Inc of Mt. Pleasant. He was an avid fisherman.

Jamie is survived by his daughter, Cheyenne Connolly; one grand-daughter, Shawna Connolly; his father and stepmother, Jim and Kathy Volner; his brother, Kevin (Michelle) Volner; and his sister, Leisa (Bill) Skiles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; and one brother, Keith Volner.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. No services are planned at this time.
