James Warren Davis, 76, of Keota, died late Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at his home in Keota. He was born June 20, 1943, in Ottumwa, to Homer Warren and Edith Arlene Davis. He graduated from Packwood High School in 1961 and entered the Iowa Army National Guard, and served honorably for six years. Jim married Kathy Tucker in 1968 and they later divorced. He worked for Coast to Coast Stores for three years, then began working for Pester Derby as a manager in Mount Pleasant and later promoted to area sales manager and supervisor for Coastal Corp. (formerly Pester Derby). Jim retired after 24 years, then purchased a restaurant and lounge in Richland. Then, in 1996, he went to work for Cargill Meat Solutions and retired in 2005. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a die-hard Hawkeyes fan and Dodgers baseball fan.

Jim is survived by a son, Mark Davis (Tammy) of Wayland; a daughter, Jodi Baughman (Tony) of Keota; one sister, Jane McCormick (Richard) of Vici, Okla.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Troy; and one daughter, Rochelle.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at the Prairie View United Methodist Church, Ollie, Iowa, with the Rev. Steve Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery with military honors by Richland American Legion Post 504. Visitation will also be held at the church immediately preceding the funeral service, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Memorials for American Legion Post 504 may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 213 North Green St., Keota, IA 52248.
