James White

James ?Jim? W. White, 57, of rural Washington, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, in the Washington County Hospital in Washington.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Burial will follow on the family farm. Visitation will begin at noon, Thursday at the funeral home, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A general memorial in the name of James W. White has been established.

Mr. White was born Sept. 29, 1959, in Washington, the son of Paul F. Johnson and Kay Elizabeth Mangold.

He was employed with Asplundh Tree Service as a supervisor, and also farmed all his life. He enjoyed NASCAR/dirt track racing, dancing, tractor pulls, Massey Harris tractors, and spending time with family and grandchildren.

Surviving are three children, Brandon White and wife Amanda of Keota, Brent White of West Liberty, and Courtney White of Washington; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Sherry Swailes and husband Bruce of West Chester, and Jo ?Poe? Pratt and husband Doug of Kalona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and one great-nephew.
