Jane Ann Penney

Jane Ann Penney, 63, of Holiday Island, Ark. died Friday, March 24, 2000, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. of cancer.

Her remains have been donated to the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. Memorials can be made to your nearest Animal Rescue League or Shelter.

Mrs. Penney was born in Iowa City and raised in Mt. Pleasant. She was married to David Penney. She attended Park College in Missouri and was a graduate of Iowa Wesleyan College. She taught in the Des Moines Public School System for 10 years and was a partner in her husband's photographic business. She was a co-founder and board member of the Blank Park Zoo Board until her retirement in 1995.

Survivors include her husband of Holiday Island, Ark.; and two sisters, Jo Weedon of Falls Church, Va. and Sara Sutton of Iowa City.
