Janet McGraw, 82, of Burlington, died Feb. 8, 2021, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born Feb. 19, 1938, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Clifford A. and Valera (Link) Ricks. She married Donald McGraw on Sept. 8, 1978. He died Sept. 17, 1996.

Jan worked for Walmart, served in the kitchen at Burlington Notre Dame and co-owned Big River Roofing with her husband Don. She was of the Catholic faith She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, watching "Murder She Wrote," game shows and soap operas. She was an animal lover.

Survivors include her two children, Kim (Dan) Kelley of Mount Pleasant and Tim (Jill) Miller of Burlington; stepchildren, Chris (Michelle) McGraw of Stronghurst, Ill., Curtis (Joyce) McGraw of Burlington, Tonya (George) Gibbs of Smithshire, Ill., and Cory (Amanda) McGraw of Waukee, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Patrick (Mary Ann) Ricks of Tennessee; one sister, Sheila Ritchey of Ohio; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Tod Miller; and grandson, Joey Miller.

There will be no funeral services at this time, a private family service will be held. Graveside service and inurnment will be held at a later date in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.

According to her wishes, cremation will be accorded and has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
