JANET Y. (GINGERICH) CRONBAUGH

Janet Y. (Gingerich) Cronbaugh, 82, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the Mechanicsville Specialty Care Center. A private graveside service will be held Monday, December 14, 2020, at 10 a.m. at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. The service will

at the Beatty Peterseim Facebook Page. A general memorial fund has been established.

Janet Yvonne (Gingerich) Cronbaugh was born October 14, 1938, in Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of Archie A. and Fronnie Lucy (Nejedly) Gingerich. She graduated from Wellman High School and earned her Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Kirkwood College. In 1968, she married Stephen Cronbaugh, the couple later divorced. She worked at Pineview and Northbrook nursing homes as a cook. Janet attended Calvary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed cooking, watching deer, playing SkipBo and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Wolfe of Cedar Rapids, Stephen Cronbaugh Jr, of Marion; seven grandchildren, Taryn, Nichole, Micole, Miranda, Dakota, Carlie and Devon; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Vernie) Lowry, Carol Jones; and a brother, Ole Gingerich, all of Washington.

Preceding Janet in death were her parents; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Jim Gingerich; and two step-brothers, Loren and Marvin Boone.
