Janette Owens

AINSWORTH ? Janette Joy (Abbott) Owens, 72, of Ainsworth, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.

Times of visitation and fellowship are from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Ainsworth Opera House. A short memorial service will be at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Owens was born Jan. 20, 1944, in Muscatine, the daughter of Don and Ruth Abbott. She married David Owens on July 29, 1961.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially around the holidays.

Surviving are her husband, David Owens of Ainsworth; two sons, Rick Owens and wife Connie of Ainsworth, and Mike Owens and wife Chris of Muscatine; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Chamberlin of Muscatine, and Alice Coleman and husband Larry of Mount Pleasant.
