Jay C. Doehrmann, age 57, of North English, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with Pastor David Grimm officiating. Inurnment will be at the Millersburg Cemetery, Millersburg, at a later date. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

Jay is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Marcia of North English, his brothers Brian Doehrmann of North Liberty and Tony (Carrie) Doehrmann of New Richmond, WI, his sisters Sara (Derrick) Grubb of Bartlesville, OK, and Stacey Doehrmann of Marengo. Also surviving Jay are 10 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sheila Kruse.

Jay Christopher Doehrmann was born November 3, 1966, in Iowa City, the son of Lloyd and Claudia Newkirk Doehrmann. He graduated from Williamsburg high School in 1986. Jay was united in marriage to Marcia Berstler on July 10, 1993, at the Millersburg Methodist Church in Millersburg. Jay worked for Brothers Market in Williamsburg for almost 40 years, serving as manager of several different departments. He also mowed yards for local people for many years. Jay enjoyed deer hunting, barbequing, fishing, and playing card games. Sheepshead was one of his favorite card games. He will be missed by many.
