Jean E. Hause

      Jean E. Hauser, 78, of Washington, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a lengthy illness.

      Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton, with the Rev. Ed O'Melia officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Thursday, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A memorial has been established for the American Legion.

      Mrs. Hauser was born July 30, 1927, in Woodstock, Ill., to Guy and Betty (Umathum) Knapp. She married Charles "Bob" Hauser on Feb. 23, 1952, in Elgin, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1995.
