Jeannette Smith

Jeannette Smith, 80, of Keosauqua died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

No services are planned. A private burial of cremains will be at a later date.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is handling arrangements

Mrs. Smith was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Memphis, Mo., the daughter of Theodor ?Jerry? and Ethel Runquist Clapper. She married Don Smith March 17, 1952, in Missouri. He preceded her in death.

She lived most of her life in Scotts Bluff, Neb.

She worked for Nebraska Triple A as a supervisor.

After her retirement she moved to Phoenix, Ariz., and then to Keosauqua.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Smith, and David Smith and spouse Sheryl, all of Scotts Bluff, Neb.; one daughter, Kathleen Peters of Scotts Bluff; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Theodor Clapper Jr. of Ankeny; and one sister Donna Bruggeman of Keosauqua.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Hirzy.
