Jeffery L. Shoemaker Jr., 52, of Hillsboro, formerly of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at his home in Hillsboro.

Jeff was born May 22, 1969, in Davenport, the son of Jeffery L. and Dawn L. (Waddell) Shoemaker Sr. He was united in marriage to Lisa Hansen on April 5, 2007, in Davenport. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and looking for deer sheds. He played baseball for 12 years for the Hawkeye Tap Baseball Team of Davenport. Jeff worked for Local 91 Sheet Metal of Rock Island for 25 years.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Lisa of Hillsboro, Iowa; his father and stepmother, Jeffrey L. (Diane) Shoemaker Sr. of Davenport; his son, Logan Shoemaker; and one niece, Kaitlynn (Logan) Fereau and their son, Camden of Laurel, Iowa; his stepfather, Joseph Jimenez; his mother-in-law, Linda Lane; four stepchildren, Darren, Deserai, Stephanie and Ryan;, along with six stepgrandchildren, Kohl, Lancer, Melodi, Gracie, Rhya and Sebastian; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dawn Shoemaker; and his sister, Lisa Shoemaker.

A Celebration of Jeff's Life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1010 N. Clark St., Davenport, Iowa. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.
