Jeffrey Michael Evans, age 55, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, at his residence following a sudden illness.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends. Jeff was born December 31, 1968, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Duane N. and Nancy Jo (Turner) Evans. He graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1987 and later attended Kirkwood Community College and William Penn University to receive his Degree in Education. He received his Master’s Degree in Education from Viterbo University. Jeff was united in marriage to Susan Kay Soden on March 16, 2020. He was previously married to Sheila Miles on September 7, 1996.

Jeff lived in the Lone Tree and Wayland Communities prior to moving to Washington. He was an over the road truck driver for Schneider Trucking in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He taught at Central Middle School in Muscatine for several years before going to work for the Department of Transportation in Coralville as a Drivers License Examiner. He enjoyed golfing, spending time at his shop in Wayland and playing the guitar. He played for Just Us Girls for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Kay Evans of Washington, Iowa; son, Dylon Evans of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Bryanna Evans of East Dubuque, Illinois; grandson, Michael Evans of East Dubuque, Illinois; father, Duane N. Evans and wife Georgia of Washington, Iowa; sister, Ronda Meade and husband Jon of West Liberty, Iowa; one niece, one nephew and several aunts and uncles.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Jo Turner.
