JEFFREY THOMAS CHIPMAN

Jeffrey Thomas Chipman, 68, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019, at Cox Memorial Center South in Springfield, Mo.

Born July 25, 1951, in Burlington, Iowa, Jeffrey was the son of Ralph V. and Valerie Bernice (Scarff) Chipman. He was a graduate of Downers Grove South High School and attended the University of Illinois, where he was a James Scholar. He graduated from George Williams College in Downers Grove, Ill.

Jeff retired from AT&T, where he worked for several years in sales and marketing. He was an historian, writer and genealogist. He loved music and books and had a great sense of humor.

Jeff loved his family and was dearly loved by them. He is survived by his mother, Valerie, of Plainfield, Ill.; sisters, Diane Joyce (Glen) of Temecula, Calif., Debora Allred (David) of Marion, Ill., and Mary Beth Chipman of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three nieces; two nephews; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father.

Interment is private. A memorial service for Jeffrey will be held in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, at a later date.
