Jeremy Robert Davis, 31, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, formerly of Columbus Junction, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, following a sudden illness. Private family funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Gene Carpenter officiating. The services will be livestreamed on the Jones & Eden Facebook page. Calling hours will begin at noon Thursday, Nov. 19, at the funeral home, where the family will be present to receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Social distancing and face covering guidelines will be enforced. Interment will take place at the Cambrian Cemetery in rural Columbus Junction, Iowa. Memorials have been established for Cotter Presbyterian Church, Ainsworth Opera House or for a scholarship for the engineering program at Iowa State University. Jeremy was born Aug. 23, 1989, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Robert and Lori (Dose) Davis. Jeremy graduated from Columbus Community High School in 2007 and later graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in agricultural engineering. He lived in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the past nine-and-a-half years, where he was employed as a design engineer for Unverferth Manufacturing in Shell Rock, Iowa.
Jeremy was full of life and never knew a stranger. His outgoing personality made it easy to entertain his friends whether through karaoke or being a disc jockey at special events. He enjoyed playing darts, pool league, bowling and golfing. He truly loved being around people. Jeremy was an avid Iowa State sports fan and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He was also very active in assisting in planting and harvest at his family's farm.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Lori Davis of Columbus Junction, Iowa; sister, Ashley Davis of Silvis, Ill.; grandmother, Carol Dose of Mapleton, Iowa; uncle, Dr. Randy Davis and wife Cindy of Colleyville, Texas; aunt, Jolene Uhl and husband Marc of Danbury, Iowa; uncle, Gary Dose and wife Shirley of Danbury, Iowa; several cousins; and many many friends.
Jeremey was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Burdette and Anita (Stange) Davis; maternal grandfather, Wilbert Dose; and aunt, Denise Pry.
