Jerome George Krogmeier

Jerome George Krogmeier, 85, of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Arbor Court.

      A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in Saint Alphonsus Cemetery.

      Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant, where a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Family visitation will follow the rosary.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church or Great River Hospice.

      Mr. Krogmeier was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Fort Madison, the son of Stephen A. and Catherine Hermes Krogmeier. He married Gertrude E. Fraise May 5, 1942, in Saint Paul, Iowa.

      Mr. Krogmeier grew up in the Fort Madison area. He was a farmer and farmed in the Salem, West Point and Fairfield areas.
