Jerry Lee Coblentz was born October 21, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Mose and Lizzie (Bontrager) Coblentz. On October 15, 1961 he was united in marriage to Lena Ruth Nissley. Jerry passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington at the age of 77 years.

He is survived by his wife Lena Ruth of Kalona; 6 children: Jerry Dean (Phoebe) Coblentz of Tallahassee, FL; Daniel Jay Coblentz of Rice Lake, WI; Dallas Coblentz, Dena Sue (Keith) Foster, LaVerda Fay Knepp, Denise Marie (Joe) Fanatia all of Kalona; 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 brothers: Mose Junior (Martha) Coblentz of Middlebury, IN; Verton (Sharon) Coblentz of Goshen, IN; Laverne (Beverly) Coblentz of Wakarusa, IN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law Ryan Knepp, and a grandson Paul B. Hannah.

Funeral Services are 10:30 AM Monday, March 25, 2019, at the Fairview Mennonite Church in rural Kalona. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-6 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona.
