Jerry Langel August 6, 1928 - February 7, 2004

Jerry Langel, 75, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at his home.

      The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Following the service, the body will be cremated. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at the chapel with family present to receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m., just prior to the funeral service. Memorials have been established to the Mt. Pleasant Boys Little League and the Mt. Pleasant Girls Softball League.

Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Eugene Good of Derma, Miss., and Larry Good of Mt. Pleasant; a stepdaughter, Joyce Wixom of Washington; five stepgrandchildren, four step great-grandchildren; five brothers, Wilfred and his wife Evey Langel and Richard and his wife Margie Langel, all of Oelwein, Bernard and his wife Helen Langel of Luxemburg, Charles Langel of Waterloo, and Robert Langel of Dubuque; four sisters, Verna White of Monticello, Patricia and her husband Marvin Vaske of Garnavillo, Eldora and her husband Anthony Koopmann of Dyersville, and Carol Ann Langel of Luxemburg.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Kerper.
