Jerry Struchen

1935 - 2018

Jerry Franklin Struchen, 82, formerly of Washington, Iowa, passed away, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House, Fort Dodge, Iowa, after a short battle with cancer.

He joined the Marines in 1952, and was stationed in Japan, until being honorably discharged, in 1957. After his discharge he lived in Cedar Rapids, Webster City, Washington, Iowa, North Carolina, and Fort Dodge, Iowa.

While living in Washington, he worked for Schwan's, was a neighborhood fixture, and adopted Grandpa.

He is survived by two daughters, six grandchildren, a sister, a brother-in-law, two great-grandchildren, cat Suki #3, as well as extended family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death, by his parents; three brothers, two sisters, four sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and a nephew.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Fort Dodge VFW.
