Jessie Franklin Albright, 90, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Calling hours will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Thursday evening. Interment will take place at the Taylor Cemetery in rural Unionville, Iowa. A general memorial has been established. Jessie was born September 4, 1931, in Milton, Iowa, the son of Louis Henry and Lottie Alice (Doll) Albright. He attended country school in Van Buren County. Jessie was married to Martha Jane Showman in 1957. They later divorced.
Jessie has lived in Washington County since 1957, where he was a truck driver for various grain companies. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by six children, Mary Louise Kugler and husband Rick of Erhard, Minnesota; Nancy Alice Simonson and husband Dave of Florence, Oregon; Dianna Lynn Lambert and husband Paul of Harrison, Arkansas; Kristina Mae Dalziel and husband William of Ainsworth, Iowa; Terry Allen Albright and significant other, Freedom, of Washington, Iowa; and Sharon Albright and boyfriend Dave of West Plains, Missouri. Jessie is also survived by 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents; stillborn son, Larry Leroy Albright; brothers, Earl, Murl and Jerry Albright; and sisters, Mary Lou Stewart and Lela May Downing.
