Jim McNiel, 83, of Batavia, Iowa, and San Angelo, Texas, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at his home. As were Jim's wishes, his body has been cremated with no services planned at this time. Friends may sign the online guest book at www.cranston

Jim was born Feb. 10, 1937, near Batavia, Iowa, to the late Don Perry and Mary Ruth Hull McNiel. Jim was a 10-year veteran of the Air Force, before working another 35 years designing, installing and testing long range telecommunications systems.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John McNiel.

Jim was a life member of the W.C. Harnes American Legion Post 667, life member of the V.F.W. and life charter member of the Iowa Chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
