Joan R. Savage

Joan Renee Savage, 46, of Columbia, Mo., died Thursday, March 13, at her home.

A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. today, March 17, at Community United Methodist Church in Columbia. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 13, 1961, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of William and Norah-Creina Alger Dalzell. On June 1, 1991, she married Stephen Savage.

A graduate of Hickman High School and the University of Missouri, with an MBA, she was founder and first president of the Zeta Omega Chapter of the Tau Beta Sigma band service sorority. She worked at Tiger Academy of Gymnastics and was a member of Community United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her parents and husband; her daughter, Cara Savage of Columbia; her son, Devin Savage of Columbia; her brother, Jeffrey Dalzell and his wife Rhonda of Liberty; her sister, Ann Borgmeyer and her husband Les of Columbia; and her brother-in-law, Wayne Savage of Washington D.C.
