Joanna Ruth Martin

      Joanna Ruth Martin, 79, of rural Brighton, died at 3:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Washington Care Center in Washington, Iowa.

      A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the Rev. Sallie Graves officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Richland.

      Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6-7:30 p.m.

      A memorial has been established for the Brighton Volunteer First Responders.

      Mrs. Martin was born Sept. 1, 1929, north of Richland, the daughter of Lewis and Margaret Spanier Krewson. She married Robert Martin Sept. 11, 1948, in Washington, Iowa.
