Joannita May Stauffer

WAYLAND - Joannita May Stauffer, 74, of Wayland, died Friday, March 14, 2008, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a short illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 18 in the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church with the Rev. Nathan Luitjens officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon today in the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Beatty Funeral home in Wayland is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.

      Mrs. Stauffer was born May 24, 1933, in Wayland, the daughter of Joseph Christner Hirschy and Magdalena Lydia (Wagler) Hirschy. She married Dareld Stauffer on May 31, 1953, in Sugar Creek Mennonite Church.
