John C. Holter

      John C. Holter, 82, of Ainsworth, died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Halcyon House in Washington, following a lengthy illness.

      Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth with the Rev. Jean Wollenberg officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Washington American Legion Post No. 29. Burial will follow services at the cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. A memorial has been established for Veterans' Remembrance Projects.

      Mr. Holter was born on Oct. 19, 1924, in Kansas City, Kan., to Roger and Helen (Rhodes) Holter. He married Norma J. Sisler on Aug. 18, 1956, in Anita. She preceded him in death in 2001.
