John C. Turner

    John C. Turner, 74, of Washington, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, in his residence following a lengthy illness.

    Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Bickhart officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.  Burial with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29 will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa.

    Mr. Turner was born Sept. 4, 1935, in rural Washington County, the son of Charles and Maxine Belle (Jones) Turner.  He married Barbara Ann Harland on Jan. 13, 1954, in Washington.
