John David Durst Sr.

      WELLMAN - John David Durst Sr., 89, of Wellman, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at Parkview Manor in Wellman, following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman, with the Rev. Rich Pippert officiating. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wellman, with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Wellman ambulance and Asbury United Methodist Church.

      Mr. Durst was born March 21, 1914, in rural Wellman, to Win and Iris (Romine) Durst. He married Maxine Baugh. He later married Elizabeth Bertha Lewis on Sept. 27, 1940, in Kahoka, Mo.
