John F. Sammons

John F. Sammons, 71, of Rome, Iowa, died Friday evening, Feb. 26, 2010, at home.

  A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Jerry Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Grant Cemetery in Rome, Iowa. 

Visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m. 

A memorial has been established in Mr. Sammons? memory.

  Mr. Sammons was born Sept. 11, 1938, in Rome, Iowa, the son of Harry C. and Mercedes Ruby Sammons. He married Carol White Feb. 11, 1963, in Aledo, Ill.
