John Loyd Hahn, age 55, of Wayland, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Washington with Andrew Zuehlke and Beny Krisbianto officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Friday, January 4th at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. Interment with military honors will be held at Keota Cemetery. A general memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent for John's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.
John was born August 28, 1963 in Washington, Iowa, the son of Ronald N. and Shirley E. (Bradshaw) Hahn. He graduated from Washington High School in 1981. John was united in marriage to Sherry Streat in 1983. They later divorced. He married Indah Nusantarawati on July 21, 2006 in Jember, Indonesia.
John lived in the Washington and Wayland communities all of his life. He was self-employed, working in demolition, scrap iron and organic farming. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and of Gideons International Ministry. John served as a Deaconn at Nations Worship Center in Iowa City. John was a Foster Parent for many years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, singing Karaoke, bowling and spending time with his family. John enjoyed traveling and recently took the trip of his lifetime to see the Redwoods in Northern California.
He is survived by his wife, Indah N. Hahn of Wayland, IA; daughter, Brandie Parsons and husband Clint of Wayland, IA; daughter, Bella Elisawati Hahn of Wayland, IA; father, Ron Hahn of DeWitt, IA; and siblings: Cathy Lomen and husband Robert "Brian" of Washington, IA; Crystal Davis and husband Patrick of Dubuque, IA; Tony Hahn and wife Janet of Hooppole, IL; Randy Hahn and wife Chris of Delmar, IA; and Ronald "Nick" Hahn and wife Karen of Washington, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Hahn; step-father, Edgar Franklin; step-mother, Carol Hahn; and brother, Paul Hahn.
