John Heiken August 7, 1925 - June 8, 2005

John "Jack" Heiken, 79, of Monticello, died following a brief illness Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Monticello, with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Scotch Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello.

      Survivors include his wife; three sons, William "Bill" of Galena, Ill., Leslie of Salida, Colo., and Ken of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Sandra McAvarn of Delmar and Judy Folken of Dubuque; 13 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Lea Strother of Mt. Vernon, and Ruth Ann Corporon of New London; and a brother, Jim of Wyoming.
