John Anthony "JC" Cash, 69, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, at his home in Mount Pleasant.

John was born May 28, 1951, at the Henry County Memorial Hospital in Mount Pleasant, the son of Daniel Joseph and Mary Jo (Schroeder) Cash. He attended Mount Pleasant High School. Following high school, he served his country in the United States Army. John worked for Mount Pleasant Utilities, the Henry County Ambulance Service, and retired in 2018 from Ideal Ready Mix Concrete of Mount Pleasant. He was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Mount Pleasant.

John is survived by his children, Resa (Jeff) Newton of Hillsboro and Trish (Daxton) Waltermeyer of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Jasmine Seitz and Sebastian Newton; his sister, Georgia (Dwayne) Mathews of Danville, his brothers, Bill (Judy) Cash of Mount Pleasant and Dan (Marge) Cash of Albuquerque, N.M.; and his brother-in-law, David Carrick of Mount Pleasant.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Carrick.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with Father Paul Connolly officiating. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, the family will not be present. A memorial has been established.
