John M. Bontrager

      KALONA - John M. Bontrager, 94, of Kalona, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, in the Pleasantview Home in Kalona following a sudden illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19 in Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Kalona with John King, Floyd Helmuth and David L. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorials may be made to the Sunnyside Mennonite Church or the Pleasantview Home in Kalona.

      Mr. Bontrager was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Dodge City, Kan., the son of Menno and Mattie (Hochstetler) Bontrager. He married Fannie Yoder on Dec. 16, 1937, in Defiance, Ohio.
