John Marie

VAN NUYS, Calif. ? John Jacob Marie, 61, of Carson, California, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at his home.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Angeleno Mortuary in Van Nuys, California, is assisting the family.

Mr. Marie was born May 11, 1955, in Washington, the son of William and Eleanor (Schmitt) Marie.

He graduated from Washington High School in 1973. His great love of learning helped him acquire degrees in broadcasting, business, and education after high school. At the time of his death he was employed by the Unified School District of California as a speech and language pathologist. He was known for a great sense of humor.

Surviving are one sister, Mary Ann Longbine of Washington; two nephews; one niece; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother.
