John R. Brown

      The family of former area resident John Raymond Brown, has received obituary information following his death last December. They have asked that it be published.

      John Raymond Brown, 84, a longtime resident of El Paso, formerly of Olds, died on Dec. 31, 2002. Burial was in Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

      He was raised in Olds where he graduated from high school in 1936. He was a career military man and served in World War II and in the Korean War. He worked with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Military Police and retired as a major. He eventually retired from the Civil Service where he was senior production controller.

      Survivors include his wife, Lillybud Brown; three sons, John and his wife Durell Brown, James and his wife Bonnie Brown, and Patrick and his wife Jeri Brown; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ethel Cox and Wanda Roth.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Sarah Brown.
