John R. Butler

John R. Butler, 90, of Washington, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, in Halcyon House in Washington, following a sudden decline in health.

    Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 16, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Paul Appel officiating.  Burial with military honors conducted by United States Air Force and Washington American Legion Post 29 will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.  Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.  Prayer services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials have been established to Washington Community Theater, St. James Church, or Halcyon House.

    Mr. Butler was born May 5, 1918, in Ward, Colo., the son of John R. and Laura (Graef) Butler.  He married Wilma Wolf on Feb. 29, 1944, in Denver, Colo.
