John R. Clark, 72, of Wayland, died Saturday, July 30, 2022, at his home following a battle with cancer. No services will be held at this time.

Memorial donations for Wayland Fire and Rescue or Every Step Hospice of Mt. Pleasant may be sent to Sandie Clark, PO Box 111, Wayland, Iowa. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

John Roger Clark was born December 5, 1949, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Thomas Calvin and Kathleen Elizabeth (Jackson) Clark. He graduated from WACO High School in 1968 and attained an associate's Degree from Muscatine Community College. He was united in marriage to Sandie Ritz in Hamilton, IL, in 1974. John worked for Bluebird in Mt. Pleasant and for Eichelberger Farms. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the casino.

Survivors include his wife, Sandie of Wayland; two children, Shannon Eagle of Wayland, Joni (Bill) Huisenga of Wayland; six grandchildren, Bodhi, Mitchell, Jaden, Jonah, Ella and Louden; and three siblings, Laura (Steve) Sinn of Eldridge, IA, Dave (Peg) Clark of Fairfield and Joe (Rita) Clark of Eagan, MN.

John was preceded in death by his parents.
