John Robert Day

      John Robert Day, 87, of Washington died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Halcyon House in Washington following a lengthy illness.

      Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Jones-Eden Funeral Home, Washington, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Halcyon House Building Fund.

      Mr. Day was born Sept. 8, 1919, in Brighton, to Wilbur Brinton and Isabelle (Kilgore) Day. He married Cornelia Shrauger on July 28, 1940, in Atlantic. She preceded him in death in 2004.
