John Stanley Erb

      KALONA - John Stanley Erb, 82, of Kalona died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona, following a lengthy illness.

      Celebration of Life services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at Lower Deer Creek Church near Kalona, with the Rev. Don Patterson officiating. Burial will precede the service at 9 a.m. Friday at Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established for Pleasantview Home in Kalona, Hospice of Iowa City or the MCC.

      Mr. Erb was born Oct. 5, 1922, to Truman and Anna Marie (Brenneman) Erb near Wellman. He married Nita Brenneman on Oct. 19, 1944, in rural Kalona.
